  • Next phase of East Manchester’s regeneration goes live

    Manchester Life Development Company today announced the commencement of site works on its first Phase One project, 302 rental apartments adjacent to the marina on New Union Street in New Islington.   The development will feature three buildings of one, two and three bed apartments with landscaped surroundings and communal spaces, interconnecting terraces, 128 parking spaces, and two retail or food & beverage outlets along the marina-side public walkway.  
  • Leanne Broderick Silver Medal Success at Construction Manager of the Year Awards

    We are pleased to announce that Snr. Contracts Manager Leanne Broderick (pictured centre) has been awarded a Silver Medal for her works on our Rathbone Phase Two residential project in Canning Town, East London.   Competing in the ‘Residential over 6 Storeys’ category she faced fierce competition from fellow Contracts Managers working for the likes of Mace, Willmott Dixon and Bouygues UK. Despite this Leanne’s achievements on the scheme allowed her to rise high above her competition.  
  • John Sisk & Son and Lagan Construction Group JV announced for A19/A1058 Coast Road junction improvement

    Improvements to the A19/A1058 Coast Road in North Tyneside have moved a step closer today (Wednesday 2 September) with the appointment of a contractor for the scheme.   The £40m contract, part of a record £15 billion investment by the Government in road improvements over the next 6 years, will be constructed by John Sisk & Son and Lagan Construction Group as a joint venture. Work will start in 2016.

    Manchester Life Development Company has appointed John Sisk & Son Ltd as main contractor for the first of six development sites within Phase One of the Manchester Life initiative, which in total will see more than 900 predominantly privately rented homes developed in East Manchester, helping to meet the growth in demand for high quality accommodation in the city and support the emergence of new neighbourhoods.  
  • Preparing for launch - Stakeholder's visit our River Avon bridge site in Bristol

    Engineers (John Sisk and Son) are preparing to move into place a new £11 million bridge to provide access to Arena Island. The move, due to go ahead later this month, comes as the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone announced it had attracted 2,000 jobs since starting in 2012. The new £90 million 12,000-capacity Arena, which opens in 2017, will form part of the zone which stretches from the Paintworks to Castle Park. The zone, which it is hoped will create 17,000 jobs and 2.5 million square feet of employment space, is being touted as the largest regeneration project in the UK.
  • New £7m link road in Crewe opened

    The Basford West Spine Road, which links the A500 at Shavington with Gresty Road, will be named Jack Mills Way. The new £7m road linking the A500 at Shavington with Gresty Road in Crewe will be open by Monday (July 27) evening.  
  • Roads and rivers reconfigured as London's Lewisham gets new gateway

    A TRUCK-MAD tot realised his dreams of becoming a driver during a VIP tour of a factory site . Matthew ....... has been transfixed by the construction of the new biopharmaceutical facility at GSK, in Ulverston, stopping each day to observe its progress on his return from nursery.

    SISK Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Bowcott as Managing Director of John Sisk & Son, the Group’s construction business.  He will take up the appointment on 1st September 2015.   With 40 years of experience, most recently with Kier Group plc,  Stephen Bowcott brings a strong track record of success in the senior leadership of major construction organisations.  
  • New Luas Cross City Scheme begins

    Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Pascal Donohoe TD, visited primary schools Christ the King Boys National School and Gaelscoil Bharra in Cabra recently to educate children on site safety as construction on the Cross City Light Rail Scheme, linking the Red and Green Luas lines, gets underway.
