The development is located on the grounds of Avondale House and Forest Park, Rathdrum, County Wicklow. It is the birthplace of Charles Stewart Parnell and is considered to be the home of Irish Forestry.
The project involved the restoration of existing courtyard buildings, construction of a new Orientation Centre, Seed Café, Pavilion building, kitchen, new exit road, overflow carpark, wastewater treatment plant, extensive landscaping works and the construction of a unique tree top tower and walkway.
The project began in April 2021 and was completed 17th June 2022 and opened to the public on 20th June 2022 and officially inaugurated by the President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins on the 6th July 2022.
The overall value of the development is €19 million.
