The multi award-winning Dundrum Town Centre project was the largest ever commercial development and is one of the most comprehensive suburban regeneration schemes ever undertaken in Ireland.
The centrepiece is a town plaza, featuring an 18th century mill house and mill pond, restored to their former glory.
Incorporated within the 17 acre site is a 281,747m² structure comprising of;
- 90,000 m2 of retail space
- 12 screen multiplex cinema
- 23,000 m2 of office space
- Over 30 restaurants
- A 200 seat theatre
- 27 apartments
- A day care centre and adult education centre.
- Underground parking for 3500 cars
At its peak, John Sisk & Son provided more than 100 management staff and the onsite workforce exceeded 1600. The project was delivered by John Sisk & Son on a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) basis.
Extensive enabling works included construction of a section of the Dundrum Bypass, demolition of existing structures, the diversion of the River Slang and removal of approx 250,000 cubic metres of granite. Multiple finishes were used both externally and internally including stone façade, trespa cladding, elaborate glazing and traditional render. Marble flooring was used throughout main shopping concourse. Complex ICT/AV/Security systems throughout to cater for individual retailers, apartment owners and the town centre in general.
