Premier Inn, Westferry on North India Dock Road, Canary Wharf was complete in 2022 and was built on a previously developed piece of land that had laid dormant for a number of years.
The building is 30 storeys in height and split between 28 floors of the Premier Inn hotel with 400 rooms and a residential shell and core contract with 66 apartments. There is a deep single basement which houses the majority of the plant.
The DLR interfaces and coordination were challenging as the basement works included the boring out of existing piles and the erection of freestanding high capacity luffing tower cranes.
Once out of the basement the Reinforced Concrete (RC) frame progressed and the structure was complete ahead of time, using jump form core method. This enabled the pods and fit-out to take place ahead of schedule.
