Tyneside's triple decker junction

The £75 million Highways England A19 and A1058 Coast Road scheme was completed on time. Drivers no longer have to negotiate the roundabout and can continue straight on along the A19. This project is one of the first major highways infrastructure projects in the UK to utilise 4D BIM.

Implementing BIM and 4D tools

The Sisk team sought an innovative solution with the support of BIM Academy that would enable them to meet the project requirements while delivering a high-quality structure in a safe environment for all involved.

Sisk worked with BIM Academy to introduce innovative BIM processes. The teams focused specifically on the benefits offered by 4D tools to aid planning coordination, buildability and temporary works design.

"Sisk is very proud to have delivered the A19 / A1058 Coast Road, Junction Improvement scheme on behalf of Highways England. It has been a very challenging project and will substantially reduce congestion in the area."
