Thursday 22nd July 2021:        Congratulations to the John Sisk & Son Canada Gardens team who were last night named winners at the National Building and Construction Awards in the ‘Innovation of the Year’ category.

The innovative solution of Digital Smart Containers recorded a 35% time saving of the QA process versus traditional paper methods, 21.1% increase of production efficiency and reduction of paper printed in our office by 44%. Our distinctive factor at Canada Gardens was going beyond the standard services currently offered by vendors and our innovative Digital Smart Containers is a demonstration of this. Sisk mapped several site activities into one environment to enhance the efficiency, time savings and better decision making throughout the site.

Ger Hayes, Regional Director, UK South, John Sisk & Son said: “The pioneering work we have done around digital smart containers using QR codes linked to digital containers to track cradle to grave quality assurance (QA), and to gain accurate information on where site progress was. This yielded time savings on the QA process, as well as an increase in production efficiency and a reduction of printed drawings.”

Coryn Martin, Project Director, Quintain said: “Sisk has been a trusted partner of Quintain for over 16 years and we have worked in together in the ongoing transformation of Wembley Park, most recently on two of our most unique Build to Rent developments. Sisk has just completed work on our flagship BtR homes at Canada Gardens & its neighbouring development The Robinson – a total of over 1,600 Quintain Living homes including 366 affordable. As our developments have grown in complexity, Sisk has continued to drive innovation in their delivery. The use of digital technology is paramount to this, to enable the workforce to work collaboratively together, either on or off site. This award for innovation is recognition of the hard work by the teams in driving the construction industry forward in a digital world.”
