Latitude Purple development

Thursday 28th October 2021: John Sisk & Son is delighted to announce it has been appointed as contractor on Hub Group’s £68m residential project at Whitehall Road, Leeds, known as Latitude Purple.

The Latitude Purple development, which sits on the previous site of Doncaster Monkbridge Iron and Steelworks, consists of two residential buildings, at 17 and 21 storeys tall. The project is Hub Group’s first residential development in Leeds and will deliver 463 homes.

The two buildings will sit over a single level of basement, with a single storey podium deck over the basement between the two buildings. The podium will boast a landscaped area which will be accessible to the residents of the buildings, accessible from the first floors.

At ground floor, car parking will be available beneath the podium deck. Car parking and bicycle holds will also be available in the basement, where storage, MEP plantrooms and water tanks will also be situated.

The external area of the development is also set to have extensive landscaping to provide greener living space in the city.

Sisk Managing Director for UK North, Alan Rodger, said: “I am delighted that Hub Group have chosen Sisk for their first residential development in Leeds – Latitude Purple. The development will help expand the city centre, and provide hundreds of quality homes for the local community. I am excited to bring Sisk’s extensive experience, culture and understanding of modern city living expectations to the development.”

Hub Group Managing Director, Damien Sharkey, said: “Sisk has a reputation for construction excellence, and shares HUB’s commitment to delivering great places to live, that benefit not just their residents but also the surrounding community. We are delighted to begin construction on our first scheme in Leeds, a key part of our strategy to expand to key ‘lifestyle’ cities – places with strong fundamentals and demand for high quality housing.”
