  • A19-A1058 Coast Road Junction - First Bridge Beams Installed

    Our A19-A1058 Coast Road scheme being delivered for Highways England in Newcastle upon Type reached a significant milestone in June when the bridge beams to the first of the six new bridges being built on the scheme were installed.   The 19 beams ranging in weight from 25 tonnes to 57 tonnes were installed successfully over a 24 hour period using a 400 tonne crane initially and the 400 tonne and a 250 tonne crane working in tandem for the heavier precast edge beams.

    Sisk Steconfer JV has commenced testing the trams on the new Luas Cross City light rail extension in Dublin, the most significant milestone for the project to date. Running from St Stephen’s Green to Broombridge through the city centre, Phibsborough and Cabra, the new line will link the Luas Red and Green Lines.

  • Select appoints Sisk on £247m Affinity Living scheme

    Greater Manchester construction firm John Sisk & Son has won a major deal to deliver the £247m private rental scheme at Circle Square, the development which is transforming the former BBC site.   The deal will see Sisk deliver 677 apartments for Select Property Group’s Affinity Living scheme. Split across two buildings, Affinity Living comprises apartments and 1500 sq m of amenity space. This includes shared lounge areas, co-working spaces, supersized gyms and private entertaining spaces.  

  • Funding Details Agreed To Build £83.7m International Convention Centre Wales

    Construction on the new International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales) will begin in March after funding details were agreed between the Welsh Government, Celtic Manor Resort and NatWest (part of the RBS Group).   NatWest’s local corporate team will provide a £51.5m loan facility to the joint venture company which will construct and manage the new convention centre as a 50/50 partnership between Welsh Government and Celtic Manor Resort.

  • Major Milestone Achieved on M20 Junction 4 Project

    The Sisk Civils team on our M20 Junction 4 project for Kent County Council achieved a major milestone on Saturday night, 8th October.   The 100 tonne steel bridge beams were lifted in by two mobile cranes that were set up on the motorway during a planned 10 hour road closure. The 40 metre long bridge beams were prefabricated and delivered to site by our specialist steelwork subcontractor, Briton Fabricators, at their workshop in Nottingham.

  • Topping out of Canning Town development’s final phase

    The final phase of a £160million development is one step closer to completion.   A topping out ceremony has been held at Lumire, the third part of the Rathbone Market regeneration scheme. Across the three phases, more than 650 new homes will have been created by English Cities fund and Newham Council, in addition to retail spaces and community areas.
