This project in the centre of Birmingham delivered 258 apartments in six separate blocks of 6 and 5 storeys around a hard landscaped courtyard for car parking. Initial operations included service diversions, demolition and ground improvement.
Cost efficiency was achieved by designing the buildings to be constructed in reinforced concrete with post-tensioned floor slabs up to terrace level. The final floor of apartments is constructed using a timber frame. The envelope is brickwork and glazing with a Metsec system for the inner skin of the external wall.
Electric panel heating is provided and the kitchens are fully fitted including white goods. The apartments were progressively handed over during the project to facilitate early occupancy.
