Sisk Rail successfully delivered the refurbishment of three footbridges in the Great Western Territory at Radley, Patchway and Chippenham Stations for Network Rail.
The existing bridges at Radley and Patchway were removed from site and substituted with temporary bridges to allowed uninterrupted platform access for passangers, allowing the refurbishments works to be carried out off-site in controlled conditions.
Upon grit-blasting the Radley footbridge, it became apparent that the structure was beyond economic repair and Sisk Rail subsequently designed and installed a new footbridge.
At Chippenham the works were undertaken with the footbridge intact, which involved regular interface with the public.
