John Sisk & Son have had the honour of building two of Ireland’s major sporting stadia, namely Croke Park and the Aviva Stadium.
The new 50,000 seat stadium is jointly owned by the Irish Rugby Football union (IRFU) and the Football Association of Ireland (FAI). It is Ireland’s first UEFA Elite Stadium and successfully held the UEFA Europa League Final 2011.
The Stadium is located at Lansdowne Road in Ballsbridge an affluent residential suburb 2km south of Dublin City Centre.
All of John Sisk & Son's building experience was brought to bear on this project to deal with the many complex facets which it presented, including management of the very complex steel roof structure through to managing neighbourhood issues and numerous environmental concerns due to adjacent parks and waterways.
The project achieved 1.5 million Accident Free Hours.

2011 British Construction Industry Award (BCIA) - Best International Project.
This award recognises excellence in UK and International Building & Engineering Projects.
