Tesco Warehouse, DIRFT, Daventry

Client : British Land/Rosemound JV

Value : £30m (€34.4m)

This project comprised the construction of a 65,030 m2 warehouse facility, 2,500m2 two storey offices, a multi-storey car park for 550 cars and 2,500m2 of ancillary buildings, including an MOT vehicle maintenance unit.

John Sisk & Son delivered certainty on a time critical programme which meant the distribution centre could be operational in time for the critical Christmas period. The mechanical and electrical fit out of the project was carried out directly for Tesco and brought value by being completed alongside the base build.

The warehouse is a 56 bay, 5 span portal frame with a clear height of 19.5m. The walls and roof are twin-skin cladding with pre-cast concrete ground beams and dock leveller pits. The warehouse has 97 dock levellers with expansion capability built in by provision for a further 40.

John Sisk & Son has completed several other projects for Goodman (previously Rosemound) including three other units at Daventry and the following:

Palletforce, Burton on Trent - 32,500m2 warehouse and three storey offices.

Refrigeration depot and cold store, Harlow - Multi temperature distribution warehouse incorporating environmental systems including rainwater harvesting, energy saving features and environmentally friendly chilling systems.

Superdrug, Avonmouth - Production unit and warehouse. Remediation of

contaminated site plus drainage, balancing pond and a 1km link road to serve this and future developments.
