John Sisk & Son carried out all civil Infrastructure works necessary for the erection of 18 no Vestas V90 2.0 MW Turbines located near a zinc mine in Co. Tipperary.
Each of the reinforced concrete turbine bases consisted of a single pour of 540m3 of concrete. Four of these bases were constructed within the Bord No Mona peat bog areas. Other works included the construction of 8km’s of new access roads as well as crane hard standings, with associated drainage & culvert construction works to accommodate the delivery & erection of the Turbine Components. Further scope of Works included the installation of 22kms of ducting between the turbines, the installation of the earthing cables & the civil works for the substation.
