This striking new development in the heart of Piccadilly provides a new five storey building offering 20,000ft2 of office, retail and residential accommodation.
This mixed use development required the retention of a small section of period façade and the total demolition of the remainder of the structure to provide a new steel frame building featuring a green roof, together with the full Category ‘A’ fit- out of the office space.
The delivery of this scheme within a full footprint central London site required innovative solutions to minimise risks to safety and quality. A stone and brick clad concrete panelling system enabled the scaffold-free erection of the building, and the project offices were suspended above the adjoining street from the steelwork.
Stakeholder liaison was critical to the success of this scheme; the effectiveness of measures employed throughout the project, including regular newsletters, resulted in a Considerate Constructor Performance beyond Compliance award.
