The three enclosed ranges and three open-air ranges which will host the London 2012 Shooting and Paralympic Shooting competitions, in addition to Paralympic Archery, have been awarded to John Sisk & Son.
These temporary facilities have been designed and are being built to minimise the impact on the environment and to have a positive impact on the local community by use of local labour and subcontractors wherever possible.
The reusable structure is mounted on removable steel piles. The piles are former gas pipelines which have been recovered from elsewhere in London to reduce the need for new materials.
Immediately after the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the venue will be dismantled and the site returned to its original condition, after which it will be handed back to the MoD.
