Kingsway Urban Village

Value : £6.2m (€6.9m)
John Sisk & Son delivered infrastructure works to support the re-development of the former Quedgeley RAF station site, now known as Kingsway Urban Village, which is anticipated will provide more than 3000 homes over a ten year period.
The works included the provision of over 2km of new estate roads, together with footpaths, cycle ways, street furniture and services, including over 3km of storm and foul water drainage.
A new traffic controlled access road was constructed on the A38 and 500m of this existing dual carriageway was re-laid. Noise protection was provided for residents through the construction of a 7m high bund along its length.
Considerate environmental management was paramount in the success of this project, due to the presence of great crested newts, badgers, bats and bee orchids.
